As a kid, I read somewhere in an article that a typical human being has roughly a gram of fecal matter just kinda hanging out in a not-thoroughly-wiped way.
So that was icky, but probably a good hygiene lesson for a little kid.
Then years later, while learning more about the metric system, I heard that a gram is roughly the mass of a small paper clip.
Which, sure, makes sense, I guess.
But now, as an adult, I imagine most people walking around with a paper clip clenched between their buttcheeks.
And that’s part of why I think the US should just shift to metric, instead of finding “bridge” units such as paper clips or fecal matter.
