In a hundred million years, when humans are long extinct, it may be the case that an intelligent species of animals, long descended from cephalopods, attempts to reconstruct our lives and bodies. We will be an oddity to them because we had an internal limiting structure. We will be The Skeleton People.
They will feature us in museums and movies and playgrounds. There may be debates on whether or not we had feathers, lips, spinnerettes, whatever.
And perhaps the best we can hope for is that in that far flung future, we might be portrayed with the same contented joy as this dinosaur is carved in a nearby children’s park.
