“And so it was commanded…”

I tried once, for funsies, to rewrite all holy books into The Ultimate Holy Book that would be more accurate, more germane, more timeless, and better understood than any other holy book that ever existed.

It also had to be short, because — let’s face it — it’s not as if everybody reads every single little word, right?

In the spirit of the old-fashioned holy books, it had to reflect the sensibilities of a command from a higher power, yet be ultimately a thing that could both be followed and prove that humanity had Free Will.

After a couple of hours, I came up with this:

A single sheet of paper upon which was written the word

Be.

That was about a decade ago. So far, in that decade, I haven’t thought of any particular revisions that might improve it.
