You know what the real tragedy here is? This sign appears in the yard of a property in a gated retirement community. This means that even a locked gate and ever-vigilant old people aren't enough to stop hooligans from bringing their dogs around, poopin' on otherwise pristine grassy yards filled with beauty and poetry. How vulgar!
I weep at the thought of our eldest citizens being terrorized by such beastly youths (for it is certainly a youth committing such a thoughtless crime -- no respected member of a community would allow their hallowed puppy to land a link in a neighbor's yard. That's not what they did back in the Fifties!) and having to take valuable time from their autumn years to build signs such as these.
Note that there's no actual writing on the sign. You know what that means, don't you? They're international criminals. Beware! Beware!
