Review: Viscous Circle

Viscous Circle

Piers Anthony

If you want to test whether or not someone has read this book, hold it up and ask "have you read this?" Invariably, they will say the title aloud and if they say yes, but pronounce it "vish-us", rather than "visk-us", then they're on crack. Contact the authorities. I'm guessing this is the last of the Cluster books for a while, based on Anthony's afterward. It's actually a rather nice finale. The male character undergoes a not-so-surprising moral metamorphosis while transferred to an alien host. What is surprising is how everything ends up. Knowing the events happening to the author as he was finishing this book makes it even more intriguing. A bit of wish fulfillment? One of the best Cluster books, I think.
