Review: Kirlian Quest

Kirlian Quest

Piers Anthony

The next book after Cluster, this takes place ten thousand years after the events of the previous book. Hearald the Healer from Sphere Slash (Slash were the bad guys in the previous books, in case you haven't read them, but are just enjoying them vicariously through me) bops around from body to body, healing all kinds of people and things. There's some serious crossover with the Tarot books as Hearald seeks guidance from an animated Brother Paul. In this book, the bad guys are a race of creatures from distant space, come to kick butt forevermore. The only character who has any clue as to the exact nature of the threat is a "Weew", but it passes out every time it tries to talk about the problem, due to the fact that its race is somewhat "peril-sensitive". Hearald must keep this character from passing out, save his best girl from being burned and rescue the known universe. It gets a bit puzzling at the end, as do the previous books, but I'm sure if I traced everything out with a pencil, it would make sense.
