Like Two + Two, this book is terribly dated. Maybe I had a hankering for 70's books. Who knows?
Aside from that, it's entertaining to read and different than most biographies, not just because of the actual subject (That Hollander was a hooker), but because Hollander's style is so much different than most mainstream writers. She writes in a rambling way that could be succesfully accused of self-indulgent in many places, but is nevertheless a change of pace from someone such as, oh, Michael Crichton (she certainly knows more about climaxes than he does!). But who am I to point fingers? Some of the racial references are also dated and stereotypical and in that respect, could prove embarrasing to someone who wasn't expecting such. Entertaining, but I strongly suspect that, while this was probably a fine reveal of The Industry when it was written, it may not be terribly accurate now. Especially the prices.
Who said that?
