Review: Fuzzy Logic

Fuzzy Logic

Daniel McNeill and Paul Freiberger

An excessively messianic introduction to the concept of fuzzy logic (Or as we say: "fuzzy logic"). There are lots of examples of fuzzy logic working in such utilities as forges and trains and washing machines and rice cookers. It's a terrific idea, but, um, have you priced fuzzy logic rice cookers? I've seen 'em coming in around $300 or more. I love the idea of a revolutionary new computer technology, but I don't love paying for it. I guess if America ever decides to go rail, we'll possibly see more fuzzy logic controllers in the cars. That would be nice, because I'm tired of trying to write on those things.
