Believe it or not, my introduction to urban fantasy. I loved it! Mr. de Lint collects a series of stories under one cover and from the same setting, a small town where at least two different realities often intersect. The fantastical and the real are written with precision and believability. Okay, there are a few parts where the "real" component of the story seems a bit contrived, but sometimes the most mundane chunks of our lives are contrived, so who's to say what's real and what's just an opium-induced fantasy dressed head-to-toe in doughnuts? Not me. Do read this book -- you won't want those hours back, I promise. Not that you can hold me to that promise, of course...
