Review: American Psycho

American Psycho

Bret Easton Ellis

Image of Book CoverThis is a remarkable book. None of the characters has any redeeming value whatsoever and they all live in a bleak, brutal world of fashion, design, personal grooming and soulless activity. In fact, the characters are so incredibly heartless that the book is comedic in its intensity. The atrocious acts of violence by the main character, Patrick Bateman, seem perfectly natural in this materialistic place. People who are prone to influence should probably shy away from this book (but then, they should probably shy away from any other book for that matter), but for those who can see past the details, a compelling, wry read awaits. Great grooming tips, too!
