Newsletter -- October 9, 2002 Good evening! I'd like to remind you (if you live in the PDX area) that this weekend is the 9th annual H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival, featuring a wide variety of features and short movies adapted from or inspired by the fantastic work of one of America's seminal horror authors. The show starts Friday afternoon at the Hollywood Theater and ends Sunday night. We'll be premiering the teaser-trailer for our feature film adaptation of "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" at the Festival (relax -- the teaser's only 90 seconds -- the rest of the Festival's going to be much better!), as well as passing out promotional postcards, a few posters, and cookies made in the shapes of zoogs. The Festival also gives you an opportunity, should you be interested, in hobnobbin' with amateur filmmakers from all over this unspeakable globe. Special guests this year are director Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator", "From Beyond", "Dagon") and S. T. Joshi (Lovecraft scholar, editor, and author). Plus, there'll be music and cool swag you can bring back home and, well, more unimaginable cosmic terror than you can shake a tentacle at! The Festival website: http://www.hplfilmfestival.com/ Stuart Gordon's listing on IMDB: http://us.imdb.com/Name?Gordon,+Stuart S. T. Joshi's website: http://www.necropress.com/stjoshi/ A little about Lovecraft: http://www.hplovecraft.com/ Our feature film's website: http://www.petting-zoo.org/Movies_Dreamquest.html See you there! dark and dangerous monkey, Edward |
